Get 'em while they're hot

Portlandia (S01E01)

Everyone knows that hipsters and their tangential brethren hippies are fantastic comedic source material. Fred Armisen, however, has the guts to take it from mere web series fodder to an actual TV show, with the help of… a female guitarist turned comedienne?

Mad Catz Rock Band 3 Wireless Pro Drum Kit

Rock Band drum kits have come quite a long way since the first model debuted not too long ago in 2007. There are cymbals, hi-hat pedals, double-bass pedals, and more. However, the Mad Catz Rock Band 3 Wireless kit is probably gonna be your go-to kit for various reasons.

Fallout: New Vegas Dead Money (DLC)

Fallout 3’s DLC ranged from decent (Mothership Zeta) to phenomenal (Point Lookout), so one would hope that the downloadable content in Fallout: New Vegas might live up to the same potential. Kaitis is here to report that so far, it’s not looking good.

No scores to settle here

Dunkin Donuts Gingerbread Latte

Gingerbread is almost a good enough flavor to get me to drink some coffee, but not quite. Luckily, John Hoy, or as the spanish would call him, Juan Today, is a self-described experienced jo drinker, so he was rather up to the task.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Treyarch isn’t exactly at the top of my list of high quality developers, but from most accounts, Black Ops is surprisingly good. I’ve only played a few matches online, though, and I gotta say, they really need to fix their awful spawning algorithm.

The Walking Dead (S01E02)

If you haven’t watched The Walking Dead yet, you better find a way to quickly. That first episode wasn’t a fluke; the show is shaping up to be potentially the best thing on television right now. Click through for the gory details.

Eastbound and Down (S02E07)

It’s sad that Eastbound and Down is over for the season, especially since it was only seven episodes this season, but honestly, those were seven gems. In my opinion, this season has entirely eclipsed the first. Here are Kaitis’s thoughts.

The Walking Dead (S01E01)

The Walking Dead came out and pretty much blew everything away. In this editor’s opinion, it’s the greatest example of Zombie media in the past few decades. For more praise and a bit of a summary, press on and read Kaitis’s review.

Space Invaders: Infinity Gene (XBLA)

Well, we’ve been invaded again. Per the usual routine, the intruders hail from space, and regardless of their motives, they must be destroyed. There are a lot of ways you can carry out your mission – employing nagoya attacks, using kamikaze tactics, or just plain Jane shooting for the kill. Whatever your preferred method, remember to never give an invader your quarters.

Dirty Projectors – Bitte Orca

Dirty Projectors wouldn’t allow you to see much, I would think, but hey, maybe that’s part of why they chose that name. All I know is that Temecula and Stillness Is The Move are songs that pretty much defy most of the conventions that I’m used to.

Volcano Choir – Island, IS (Single)

I haven’t even worn out Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago yet, and I can literally listen to the song Blood Bank any time, and Justin Vernon’s already giving us new material, even if it’s from some time ago. Nice fella, that guy. A bit mopey, but a nice fella.

Doug Benson – Unbalanced Load

That green old comedian, Doug Benson, finally has a new comedy album out, which means Kaitis is happy and gave it a listen. In an unrelated note, Doug Benson is way older than I thought he was. Then again, maybe I’m way older than Benson thinks I am.
