I’m a big fan of the floss pick. The good old fashioned way of wrapping long strands of floss around your fingers never suited me nor my gums well. The convenience of floss picks makes flossing each night more bearable. How different can one floss pick be from the next, you ask? Well, let’s just say that I walked out of my local Wal-Mart with a smile having snagged a bag of 60 Plackers Right Angle floss picks. I did not expect any significant differences from my previous picks, but boy was I in for a surprise. The instant I popped that bag open, I noticed the actual floss attached to the plastic pick appeared to be wiry and thin. Flossing with it was no treat. The thin floss included not only unravels and shreds as you move from tooth to tooth, but the thin nature of the floss itself gives your gums a tearing sensation. It felt like I was flossing with 4 lb. test fishing line. I thought I could endure the pain until the bag ran out, and I was not planning on reviewing this. However, here I am; gums aching and stinging. DO NOT buy Plackers Right Angle floss picks. They are thin enough to cut your gums up, and due to this, you can easily rack up a count of three floss picks per session.

>In addition to the flossers, you probably picked up swine flu for free at the local walmart. Enjoy!!
>Sounds like he got a bargain to me. Too bad you missed out.
I, on the contrary, LOVE the Plackers Right Angle Floss Picks and can't find them stocked in stores in sufficient quantities. Therefore, I am having to order them online to be delivered to my door. Despite the negative experience of the previous reviewer, I find the floss to be very sturdy and shred-resistant. In fact, they are billed as being made from the same material as bullet-proof garments. This is helpful in decreasing the tendency of floss to disintegrate. My teeth fit very tightly together in my jaws because I never had my wisdom teeth removed, which makes getting floss between them difficult. But the main reason I like the Right Angle model from Plackers is because that's the only angle I can manipulate effectively to floss with. There is another brand that makes the right angle style but their pick end is so sharp I have to first smash it flat before handling it, and the floss begins to sag prematurely when used. So, I am really impressed with Plackers Right Angle Floss Picks. Apparently, not many people agree because the product isn't stocked on store shelves as much as the others.
I agree with Anonymous (9/8/10). These are the best flossers I've tried, and I've tried at least 4 or 5 brands of the flat (non angled ones). And I have the same issue, I can't find any in stores, I'm buying online also, and run into this page looking for a place that might have them in stock to avoid paying for shipping.
I also agree with anonymous. Plackers right angle are the best flossers I have used, they are sturdy and don't shred during use. Thay ARE hard to find in stores though.
I have to say, I agree with anonymous also. I have tight contacts and regular floss shreds between my teeth when I floss. I have to use Glide Floss or a special floss for tight contacts. But the Plackers are Durable.I have tried other floss picks, only to have the floss deteriorate between my teeth. Then I would have to use Glide Floss to remove it.Plackers makes flossing so convenient!
