Waffles seem to be a pretty well-liked breakfast food. There’s a whole chain of houses dedicated to making them 24 hours a day, so they must be popular. To help further my argument, I introduce to you, Eggo, by the Kellogg’s corporation. Best known for their extensive line of frozen waffle products. One of their newest products is the line of Whole “Nutri” Grain Waffles, specifically the kind filled with Strawberry. Now from what I remember, when Eggo chose to fill Waffles with stuff they were called Waf-FULS, but I guess the name of Eggo Nutri-Grain Waf-FULS doesn’t really appeal to kids or adults, and they should probably at least try to appeal to one.
It takes about two full toasts to cook these. The filling is kind of jelly like, a really thin layer too. It has a pretty good flavor, but more like artificial strawberries than fresh, kind of like a Pop-Tart. It does however mix well with any number of toppings that taste good on a waffle. They’re not gonna change any fruit filling haters’ minds, but they may help show people the awesome ways of whole grain. I’m not 60 years old, so I don’t really care about the fiber bonuses in it, but I really believe the flavor of the grains make any sort of bread products taste better. I do suppose the added fiber could come in handy for some people though. They would be much better with more filling and perhaps fruit pieces, or at least a fresher tasting filling. Definitely a good mix up from average toaster items, and way better than a Homestyle Eggo waffle. It’s also impossible not to like if you like strawberry or whole grain things. So do your self a favor and pick these up for breakfast, for your health!
