30 Rock (S03E01)

There’s a reason why this show has won the Emmy for Best Comedy for both years it’s been on the air. 30 Rock has returned, and it has brought all of its wonderful charm with it. Season 2 left off with Liz’s bright-eyed dream of adopting a young’n to call her own, Tracy’s bright-eyed dream to create his own Porn Videogame, and Jack’s bright-eyed dream of becoming the CEO of GE was ruthlessly crushed to death, and now carries the bright-eyed dream of getting the hell outta of his new job in DC. That ordeal is taken care of within the first five seconds of “Do-Over”, and was explained the only way 30 Rock knew how; insult the vice-president.

And then the next thirty minutes was full of laughter.

Tracy’s rolling in the dough, and Jenna wants her fair share. Jack is but a lowly mail-boy who aims to be back at the top in at least five or nine years. Liz is still overly nerdic, and needs to hide that when the Adoption Agent rolls into the TGS workplace. Therefore, Liz needs to hide everything about the place that would be deemed unsafe for a child (i.e. everything), and convince all of her friends and co-workers to lie about everything about themselves, the workplace, and Liz herself. Hilarity ensues. This continues 30 Rock’s strong stance on strong character devlopment, tounge-in-cheek humor, and further fuel for that almost stalker like obsession I have with Tina Fey. And Alec Baldwin. And the rest of the 30 Rock cast, I guess. That’s still the small issue I have with the series. Liz, Jack, Tracy, and the occasional Guest Star seem to take up a lot of the screentime. The rest of the cast is hilarous every second they’re on screen, and this show will be perfect when it finds a good balance for the supporting leads. All and all, this is still must-see-TV.

If you’re one of the millions of people still missing this series, shape up and watch the first two seasons pronto. Or just watch this one now. You’ll thank Papa Zach later.

7/7

In Bruges Movie Review

In Bruges

In Bruges is a bit of an older film, dating back to 2008, but Maddie swears it's a classic. If you're a fan of black comedy and extreme violence, this is your kinda film. If not, hey, why not check it out anyway?

How to Make it in America (S02E01) Review - "I'm Good"

How to Make it in America (S02E01)

Some people say How To Make It In America is Entourage Lite. It was brought to fruition by the same people, including Mark Wahlberg, so maybe they're right. Kaitis caught back up with the new season and had some notes.

50/50 Movie Review

50/50

Lots of people probably think 50/50 is just another Seth Rogen movie of slipping quality, but it's actually based on his relationship of Will Reiser when they wrote for Da Ali G Show. Kaitis has the details inside.

New Girl Zooey Deschanel Show Review

New Girl

If you haven't heard, Zooey Deschanel is starring in a new show called New Girl. You'll never believe it, but she's the quirky, dorky girl who turns out to be the most original and beautiful one in an otherwise shallow world.

Attack the Block Movie Review

Attack the Block

Attack the Block is an alien invasion movie with a British, gangster-y twist. It was a big hit at Cannes and in the UK, but is only just being released in America tomorrow. Marco has an opinion and he knows how to use it.
