Never Back Down

This movie is interesting; it plays on what’s big amongst teens, so like all movies that do that they usually tend to suck in the end, but they can always get away with one movie. A similar series that comes to mind is the fast and the furious saga, but enough about that. This is a movie about fighting, kind of a new age rocky. Most of the fights are pure MMA style, and the story is actually decent and has a good underlying meaning. I really enjoyed watching this movie, the characters are very easy to take a liking to and see where they are coming from. Some of the fighting looks and feels fake, but most of the fights look like real sparring matches between real fighters, and also show some of the consequences of fighting.

I would totally recommend this movie as an anytime movie, and it is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy the sport of mixed martial arts. My only complaint was the ending as it seems to end abruptly and with out answering some questions, but this very well could be to leave it open for possibly a sequel or two. Hopefully they will have better actors than the aforementioned series.

5/7

Footloose 2011

Footloose (2011)

This trend of pointlessly remaking movies was bad enough, but now they're starting to remake '80s movies. That's really bad. Maddie sat through the new remake of Footloose, yawning, and wrote this.

Sonic Generations Review

Sonic Generations

As the Sonic series reaches its 20th anniversary, SEGA does its best to make us forget about all the crappy iterations of the game that have come between Sonic Adventure and now. Did they pull it off? Forrest will tell you.

Batman: Arkham City Review

Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham Asylum is basically the only relatively successful Batman game since probably the Sega Genesis. Naturally, a sequel to that well-received game will arouse some hype. Forrest is here to put the rumors to rest.

In Bruges Movie Review

In Bruges

In Bruges is a bit of an older film, dating back to 2008, but Maddie swears it's a classic. If you're a fan of black comedy and extreme violence, this is your kinda film. If not, hey, why not check it out anyway?

Dark Souls Review

Dark Souls

Demon's Souls is a cult classic PS3 game known for being notoriously hard. Well, the game's spiritual successor, Dark Souls, is out now, and even harder than its predecessor. Are you up to the challenge? Forrest was.
