The Merry Andrews Show

Time for another We Rate Stuff request! We Request Stuff? Hmm… Anyway, today we’re checking out a radio show, put on by some friends of WRS, called the Merry Andrews Show.

There are 4 people (as far as I can tell) involved in the show: Ashley (artist relations), Aly (creative writer), Jimmy (political analyst), and Marc (producer & engineer). They all pride themselves on being into music that isn’t necessarily the most popular. Even though they’re based in Florida (like us!), they focus on a wide variety of artists, often times international. Boasting 18 episodes so far, I found this show to be entertaining and not nearly as amateur as one would expect a local radio show to be. Then again, what’s local when you have the internet?

Normal episodes consist of a blend of banter, amusing anecdotes, and indie music. As the hosts of this show are already friends, they have good chemistry interacting together, especially Ashley and Aly. Though episodes are longer than I’d expected, they’re easy to sit through because of the even mix of good music and fun conversation. The Merry Andrews Show doesn’t only consist of internet-radio episodes, though; they have videos, interviews, pictures of live shows, and artist news as well, all located on their website, The Merry Andrews Show website. The best part about the show is the fact that it’s obvious that these people actually care that much about the music they’re presenting to you.

Overall, these are just fun people. The Merry Andrews show is special because even though it’s a seemingly small production, it feels like it could go big and be successful. Their website is a great place to hang around, due to the different types of content and media. The show is also a great resource if you’re looking to expand your musical horizons, and I think you’d be hard pressed to find somebody who didn’t like at least one song per episode. Bookmarked!

Goozex Site Review

Goozex

Goozex is a video game trade-in site that uses a point system, and frankly, sounds a bit more fair than trade-ins at Gamestop. At the very least, you'll leave with more than a few ones and some change for your $60 game.
